We study polarized Gowdy cosmologies on the three torus coupled to a massive scalar field. The phase space of model admits simple splitting between homogeneous and inhomogeneous sectors after suitable gauge fixing. presence mass term field breaks linearity equations motion fields. discuss regimes physical interest in which we recover linear dynamics these nonperturbative inhomogeneities, despite metric is fully at early times. expand fields Fourier modes express them all times as combinations basis orthonormal complex solutions motion, with coefficients that turn out be an infinite collection constants motion. argue resulting can describe universe dominated by kinetic energy inflaton eventually reach slow-roll regime nearly exponential expansion late isotropices homogenizes geometry.
